Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT University) conducts CEPT Entrance Exam every year for admission in its 3 year Undergraduate Programme (UG) and 2 years Postgraduate Programmes (PG). These bachelor’s courses and master’s courses are offered in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design and Management, Design and Construction Technology, etc.
The application forms for the exam are available on the university’s website, www.cept.ac.in. The exam is held through an offline paper-based test method and is of three hours duration. CEPT is held in English medium and includes objective type questions, design – drawing questions and descriptive questions. The number of questions in each section may vary in every exam. CEPT exams have no Negative Marking Scheme for any wrong answers. Candidates who qualify the written exam will have to face another selection round i.e. Personal Interview. The candidates who qualify the Interview round are invited for counselling and admission process. CEPT University generally conducts CEPT exam at its Kasturbhai Lalbhai Campus located at University Road, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.
The subjects covered in the CEPT exam syllabus are:
- Visual Perception and Logical Reasoning: It covers basic design and interiors, lateral thinking and imagination.
- Colour Perception and Association: chapters covered include context analysis, visual order, association, interpretation, application, and interior space attributes
- Making and Creativity: It covers organizational principles, visualization of 3D objects, scale and proportions, logic and ordering principles and observational skills.
- Drawing and Perception: Representation, understanding of order, understanding of basics of design, common sense and problem solving are covered in this subject.
Syllabus of CEPT exam also consists of Standard Mathematics Questions as per the syllabus of Class 12th, English Subject Questions as per the syllabus of Class 10th and various skill testing questions for the course applied for. and topics studied in under graduation.
